How much does the academy cost?
Nothing. Every full academy place is funded by the TOPSKY Foundation and our presenting partner JOI Daddi — coaching, education, kit, meals, medical care, and housing where needed. Community programs (weekend soccer school, holiday camps, semi-private training) carry modest fees, and one in four camp places is fully sponsored for families who cannot pay.
How do I get my child a tryout?
Attend any open identification day — see the calendar on our
Tryouts page. Registration is free, by email (
academy@topskyfc.com) or on-site. Bring a birth certificate or Ghana Card for age verification and arrive 45 minutes early.
My child lives outside Accra. Where would they stay?
Players from outside Greater Accra live either in our supervised 48-bed residence at the training centre or with a vetted host family nearby. Host families are interviewed, background-checked, visited monthly by our Education & Welfare Officer, and receive a stipend from the foundation. Parents receive a weekly call and can visit any weekend.
What about school?
School is non-negotiable at TOPSKY — our rule is simple: no schooling, no football. Academy players attend our partner schools in East Legon on a sport-study timetable, with tutoring and exam support provided at the training centre. The foundation covers all fees, uniforms, and books through age 18.
Can girls join TOPSKY?
Yes. Our Women's Program runs U14 and U17 squads with the same coaching staff quality, education support, and funded places as the boys' academy. Girls-only identification days are listed on the tryouts calendar.
What happens if my child doesn't become a professional?
Most young players anywhere in the world don't turn professional, and we plan for that honestly. Every player leaves TOPSKY with a completed education, and the foundation's Sky Scholars program supports vocational training or further studies for graduating players who don't sign professional contracts.
Is TOPSKY F.C. really a foundation?
Yes — TOPSKY Football Club operates as a registered foundation in Ghana. Club commercial income, led by the JOI Daddi presenting partnership, funds academy places, scholarships, community clinics, and the partner-club network. Annual impact figures are published on our
Foundation page.
How are players kept safe?
All staff and host families are background-checked and trained in child safeguarding. We maintain a published safeguarding policy, a dedicated welfare officer, and a confidential reporting line for players and parents. Medical staff are present at every training session and match.
Do you accept international trialists or partner inquiries?
We welcome partnership inquiries from clubs, agents, and academies in Africa and Europe at
foundation@topskyfc.com. Player identification remains Ghana-first: our mission is to develop Ghanaian talent at home.
